Checked and striped fabrics have been a fashion favourite for years. These timeless classics remain popular due to their versatility. From bold tartans and subtle pinstripes to wide nautical stripes – they return every season in women’s, men’s, and children’s collections.

Yarn-Dyed Fabrics

Among our checked and striped fabrics, you will also find yarn-dyed qualities. The yarns are dyed before weaving, resulting in a woven pattern that is visible on both sides of the fabric. This gives the fabric a rich and durable appearance.

Available Qualities

This category includes a range of qualities suited to different applications. Many checked and striped fabrics are made from 100% cotton, making them breathable and lightweight. Cotton feels pleasant on the skin, is easy to work with, and suitable for all seasons.

Classic Tartan Checks

A true classic among checked and striped fabrics is the tartan check – the traditional Scottish pattern made up of intersecting horizontal and vertical stripes in multiple colours. The Verhees Textiles collection includes tartan checks in both traditional colourways and fashionable variations. Our tartan fabrics are composed of polyester, viscose and elastane, offering the best of three worlds: durability from polyester, suppleness from viscose and comfort from elastane.
